Restoring Hope for Our Future by Empowering Youth to Succeed
BABY’s mission is to prevent young people in South Los Angeles from entering gangs and to reduce the impact of gang activity on our communities.
Our interventions keep students off the streets and in school, promote peace in and around our school communities, foster safe and resilient learning environments, and advance youth’s core life and coping skills.
Programs
Gang Prevention & Mentorship
BABY provides gang assessments and evaluations, mediation, conflict resolution, mentorship, life skills training, academic support, and extracurricular sports and activities at Los Angeles public and Charter Schools.
Parent & Community Engagement
We work with parents, community members, and public/private agencies to educate them on gang-recruitment practices, strengthen partnerships, and offer real life strategies to prevent gang violence.
In-reach & Re-entry Programming
Through the Prison Letters 4 Our Struggling Youth Program and re-entry services, BABY helps currently and formerly incarcerated individuals share their stories, improve their circumstances, and create lasting change.
